Delta Airlines Baggage Policy
After you departure, within 24 hours you can check in and notify Delta about the
number of bags. You can drop your bags at baggage drop if you have already
checked in. You can also check in and pay for the bags at the airport itself.

- Main Cabin seats on a flight travelling within US
Second bag: $40USD weighing 23kg
- Delta SkyMiles Medallion members Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members- First checked bag is free of cost
- Checked baggage allowance varies on the basis of routes
Excess and Overweight Baggage
Cost of extra bags if you are flying within the US, the US Virgin Islands or
Puerto Rico:-
- 3rd bag: $150 USD
- 4 to 10 bags: $200 USD each
- Overweight bag
32kg to 45.36kg: 200USD/CAD
Bags exceeding 45.36kg: not allowed
- Oversized bag
Bags larger than 203cm not allowed
Overweight Baggage on International Flights
- Flights within US and Canada: bags exceeding 45.36kg are not allowed
- Flights between North/South/Central America and Europe/North Africa: bags exceeding 31.75kg are not allowed
- Flights to/from/within Australia and New Zealand: bags exceeding 31.75kg are not allowed
- Flights to/from/through Europe, South Africa or United Arab Emirates: bags exceeding 31.75kg are not allowed
Prohibited or Restricted Items
- Bleach, drain cleaners or pesticides
- Aerosol products
- Gunpowder, fireworks or explosives
- Gasoline or Sterno Cans
- Paints and Lubricants
- Torch or Blue flame writers
- Hoverboards
- Refrigerator, air conditioner, freezers
